Live Music, Community Fun, and Hands-On Experiences at Eagle’s Performance-Based Music School
EAGLE, ID (April 27, 2026) – School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, is excited to announce the grand opening of School of Rock Meridian. The free, family-friendly event will take place on Friday, May 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 3210 East Chinden Boulevard, Eagle, Idaho.
The celebration will feature guided tours of the school, mini lessons, student and staff performances, photo opportunities, and more. The event will also include food vendors, and appearances from local police and fire department vehicles.
School of Rock Meridian is owned by Michael Ginn, a longtime music educator who brings decades of experience and a deep passion for music education to the local community. Ginn currently serves as a school band teacher at a nearby middle school and has spent more than a decade teaching music in public schools. Earlier in his career, he also served in the U.S. Navy for five years as a member of Navy Band Southeast and Navy Band Midsouth.
Music has been a cornerstone of Ginn’s life since he began piano lessons in grade school, eventually finding a sense of belonging through the friendships formed through music. That experience helped shape his philosophy as an educator and ultimately inspired his decision to open a School of Rock.
"I’ve always had a deep passion for concert band, both as a performer and educator,” said Ginn. “I also recognize that most students aren’t going home to listen to John Philip Sousa, and that’s perfectly okay. Opportunities for modern bands remain limited, particularly in public schools. Bringing School of Rock to this community allows us to bridge that gap and give students a place where they can learn music in a way that feels relevant, collaborative, and inspiring, while building confidence and connection through performance."
Ginn first learned about School of Rock through family members who experienced the program firsthand, and the model resonated with his own belief that music education should be engaging, collaborative, and performance-driven.

School of Rock Meridian offers music programs for all skill levels and age groups, from kids as young as five years old to adults. Students receive weekly one-on-one instruction on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or vocals, and participate in group rehearsals that culminate in live performances at real venues. School of Rock’s patented performance-based model builds musical skills while fostering life skills like creativity, resilience, and teamwork.
