GET READY TO ROCK: SCHOOL OF ROCK MADISON CELEBRATES GRAND RE-OPENING ON FEBRUARY 28
Live Music, Community Fun, and Hands-On Experiences at Madison’s Performance-Based Music School
MADISON, CT – School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, is excited to announce the grand re-opening of its location in Madison, Connecticut. The free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, February 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at 845 Boston Post Rd, Madison, CT 06443.
The celebration will feature guided tours of the school, snacks, and live music from the School of Rock Madison Houseband, giving attendees a firsthand look and listen at the school’s dynamic, performance-driven approach to music education.
School of Rock Madison is owned by Jorgen and Melissa Taylor, a husband-and-wife team whose family has deep roots in the School of Rock community. Their son has been a School of Rock student for several years, after first coming to the school for guitar lessons, and their daughter has also participated in vocal lessons.
“Jorgen and I could not be more excited to be part of the Madison community by providing a positive, welcoming space where students and instructors can grow, build confidence, and share their love of music,” said Melissa Taylor. “School of Rock Madison is truly special, and we’re committed to preserving its culture while creating opportunities for even more musicians, kids and adults alike.”
Music has long been a part of the Taylors’ lives. Melissa sang in chorus and played flute growing up, while Jorgen played trumpet through high school and grew up surrounded by music, with his father performing in a band. Their household soundtrack includes artists like Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, and Heart, shaping a lifelong appreciation for music that their children now share. After experiencing School of Rock as parents, the decision to become owners felt natural.
The Taylors have a strong commitment to the Madison community and are deeply invested in supporting local businesses and events. They are often out in the community, shopping, dining, and spending time at Hammonasset Beach State Park, which makes their investment especially meaningful.
“Melissa and Jorgen embody what makes School of Rock so impactful,” said Stacey Ryan, President of School of Rock. “As parents who experienced the program firsthand, they understand the power of performance-based music education to build confidence, creativity, and community. We’re thrilled to see School of Rock Madison continue to thrive under their leadership.”
School of Rock Madison offers music programs for all skill levels and age groups, from kids as young as five years old to adults. Students receive weekly one-on-one instruction on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or vocals, and participate in group rehearsals that culminate in live performances at real venues. School of Rock’s patented performance-based model builds musical skills while fostering life skills like creativity, resilience, and teamwork.
