GET READY TO ROCK: SCHOOL OF ROCK DUNWOODY CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING AS OFFICIAL AFTER-PARTY FOR EXPLOREFEST ON OCTOBER 3
Ribbon Cutting, Student Open Mic and More Mark the Arrival of Dunwoody's Newest Music School
DUNWOODY, GA (September 30, 2026) - School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of School of Rock Dunwoody. The free, family-friendly celebration will take place on Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at School of Rock Dunwoody, located at 2458 Jett Ferry Road, Dunwoody, GA.
The school is teaming up with Create Dunwoody for Explorefest, a community event running from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. School of Rock will lead the music programming, including an open mic showcase on a stage just outside the school where students and local performers will take turns performing throughout the day. The plaza will also feature face painting, pumpkin decorating, a train ride, a passport challenge, and a celebration for the 40th anniversary of E. 48th Street Market. Explorefest will wrap with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for School of Rock Dunwoody alongside city officials.
School of Rock Dunwoody is owned by Yael Lindenboim, who spent more than 30 years in the tech industry, most recently as Head of CRM at Airbnb. Lindenboim wanted something new and inspiring for the next chapter of her career. Two years ago, she moved to Atlanta to be closer to family, and she saw that Dunwoody's music-loving families were in need of School of Rock's hands-on, performance-driven music education. She played piano as a teenager and has stayed close to music ever since.
"Opening a new music hub in Dunwoody is a dream come true for me," said Yael Lindenboim, owner of School of Rock Dunwoody. "I wanted to create a home away from home where our community can connect over the love of music, and bring more joy to the whole community. Watching our founding families discover music together has been incredibly rewarding, and I can't wait to see our founding members perform on stage for the first time at our grand opening."

School of Rock Dunwoody serves the Greater Perimeter community, including Dunwoody, Chamblee, Sandy Springs and Roswell. The school offers programs for all skill levels and age groups, from kids as young as four to a growing adult program. Students receive weekly one-on-one instruction on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or vocals, and join group rehearsals that culminate in live performances at real venues. Beyond regular programming, the school hosts birthday parties, corporate team-building events and date night jam sessions.
